## What Civops is

Civops is the industrial intelligence platform you walk through ONCE — from marketing engagement, through sales demo, through assessment, into pilot, into production — without re-typing your plant data or learning a new interface at every phase.

It is **one tool**, surfaced as different lenses for different people:

- **Marketing & Sales** see brand-pack collateral, demo builders, prospect-tailored macros.
- **Consultants** see the assessment console — RACI, evidence, interviews, QA gate.
- **Operators** see the daily-use loops — HMI, operations, quality, maintenance, workforce.
- **Customers** see their portal — collateral library, self-driven assessment, sandboxed pilot, connector setup.

Same data. Same login. Same surface. Different visibility per persona.

## What Civops replaces

Most plants today run on a patchwork of:

- An ERP that knows the orders.
- A historian that knows the tags.
- An MES that schedules production.
- A QMS that holds batch records.
- A CMMS that schedules maintenance.
- A WMS that tracks inventory.
- 6+ Excel files that reconcile what those systems disagree on.
- An integrator's calendar quarter to add anything new.

Civops doesn't rip any of them out. It rides alongside in **passive-read mode**, unifies the data fabric, surfaces operator screens in days instead of quarters, and tracks the dollar value of every change in a GAAP-aligned subledger so the CFO can defend the business case.

When you eventually want to retire one of those systems — Civops walks the **replacement ladder**: passive_read → shadow_write → dual_write → primary. On your timeline, not the integrator's.

## The lifecycle, in one diagram

```
Marketing  →  Sales  →  Assessment  →  Pilot  →  Production
   |           |           |             |          |
   |           |           |             |          |
 Brand-pack  Tailored    Self or      Sandboxed   Connector
 landing +   demo        assessor-led data        cutover +
 collateral  macro +     w/ photo     upload +    appliance
             flyby       evidence     preview     deployment
   |           |           |             |          |
   +-----------+-----------+-------------+          |
                          |                          |
                  Same engagement                    |
                  record. bridgeToSetup()            |
                  pre-fills the wizard.              |
                                                     |
                                          Cloud-AI BEFORE this point.
                                          On-prem Ollama AFTER cutover.
                                          The boundary is the cutover
                                          state machine — disciplined,
                                          observable, audit-logged.
## Three claims worth defending
**1. No re-typing.** What the customer told marketing during demo prep, what they told the assessor during site walk, what they told sales during pilot scoping — all the same engagement record. The setup wizard pre-fills from it. Operators don't repeat themselves.
**2. No vendor proliferation across the buying cycle.** Marketing pitch, sales demo, assessment tool, pilot sandbox, install console — all the same product. Customer learns the interface once.
**3. Customer downloads the platform at purchase.** A `docker-compose.portal.yml` baked with the customer's tenant ID + brand slug + journey stage. Boots in 30 minutes in the customer's own environment. The same platform that scales to the full appliance — they're not getting a stripped-down trial.
## What sales conversations sound like
> "We've answered the same questions four times across your sales cycle." — that's the pain. Civops is one tool, one record, one surface. From first marketing touch to production cutover.
> "Our integrator quoted six weeks for one new operator screen." — Civops ships HMI panels in days. Sheet Builder is in the platform; operators don't wait on a calendar quarter.
> "How do we defend the business case to our CFO?" — Lifecycle Value Ledger. GAAP-aligned subledger. Period-close bridge to your native GL. The CFO sees a formal accounting record, not a marketing dashboard.
